Zachary Best joined Mehri & Skalet in September of 2011 as the 2011-2013 Find Justice Fellow. His work focuses on the civil rights, wage and hour, and consumer protection aspects of the firm’s practice.
Mr. Best graduated magna cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center in May 2011, where he served on the Georgetown Law Journal and participated in the Community Justice Project, a clinic dedicated to using the law as a tool for social change. During his time as a law student, Mr. Best interned with the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights & Urban Affairs, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Advancement Project, the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Center for Responsible Lending.
Mr. Best recently authored an article published in the Georgetown Law Journal entitled “Derailing the Schoolhouse-to-Jailhouse Track: Title VI and a New Approach to Disparate Impact Analysis in Public Education.” While at the Center for Responsible Lending, he co-authored an article entitled “Breaking Down Financial Reform: A Summary of the Major Consumer Protection Portions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act” for the Journal of Consumer and Commercial Law.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Best graduated from the University of Virginia, receiving a B.A. with highest honors in Anthropology and African American Studies.
