Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Mehri & Skalet along with co-counsel Tycko & Zavareei filed a major gender discrimination suit against Ruth’s Chris Steak House on October 8, 2010. The case was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of three women who held managerial positions with Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

The plaintiffs allege a wide-spread pattern and practice of discrimination in pay, promotions and terminations of female employees. The plaintiffs also allege that they hit a “glass ceiling” at the company and were denied promotions, paid less than males who held the same or comparable positions, and faced harsher discipline than males.

Finally the plaintiffs allege that the predominately male leadership team at Ruth’s Chris fosters a sexually charged workplace environment, where sexual harassment is rampant and those who complained or reported it faced retaliation, including termination.
