Workers’ Rights

Mehri & Skalet works to ensure that employees receive appropriate compensation for their work. This means pursuing cases that safeguard employees’ salaries by making sure companies pay requisite overtime rates for work over 40 hours per week and are not illegally diminishing their salaries by forcing payment for the cleaning of uniforms and other unseen charges.

In addition to protecting employee salaries M&S works to make sure that the benefit packages that employees negotiate are there to be collected when the time comes.

Wage & Hour/FLSA

Employee Benefits/ERISA

The law governing employee benefits is the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). ERISA provides strict limitations on the actions of the person or entity administering an employee pension or retirement account. The administrator must provide prudent management, act only in the interest of the beneficiaries and provide adequate information to them about the account.
