AT&T Wireless Data Plan Cramming

Mehri & Skalet is investigating reports that AT&T is switching smart phone users to more expensive data plans without their prior consent.

AT&T has required that all new smart phone purchasers also purchase a data plan as of September 6, 2009.  However, if you bought your phone before then, or you have an unlocked device, such a plan should not be required.    AT&T states that it has added data plans for their customers' "convenience."  This may be a violation of the customer service agreement, and applicable consumer protection laws.

If you have had this problem, please contact us by phone or by filling out the consumer intake form on our site.
