Mehri & Skalet filed a multi-claim, nationwide class action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota against Homecomings Financial, LLC and its parent company, GMAC Financial, LLC.  The complaint alleged that Homecomings assessed a variety of fees and charges that it failed to properly account for and explain to borrowers.

In December 2009, the parties entered a mutually satisfactory settlement agreement regarding plaintiffs' claims.
