Summary

On September 15, 2009, Mehri & Skalet along with co-counsel filed a nationwide class action lawsuit against Wachovia Securities, LLC in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The lawsuit is brought on behalf of all female financial advisors at Wachovia Securities who were employed at any time from March 17, 2003 to the present. At the present time, no class has yet been certified by the Court.

The lawsuit alleges that Wachovia Securities engaged in systemic gender discrimination against female financial advisors with respect to compensation, account assignments, “partnership” participation, promotions, training and mentoring and other terms and conditions of employment, all in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.

The parties are currently in settlement negotiations.

If you believe you have experienced gender discrimination by Wachovia Securities and are interested in the class action, please contact us.
