This website keeps what it calls a "blacklist" of customers who have exercised their right to a refund, or "chargeback," on their credit cards. Businesses can then use this information to deny service to blacklisted customers. Badcustomer allows consumers to remove themselves from the list by paying a substantial fee. Best Buy charges $39.99 for what it calls “optimization” services on new computers. It assesses this charge in addition to its advertised retail prices. It does not appear that the “optimization” adds any real value to the product, and in many instances consumers are unable to buy a non-optimized computer at the advertised price.
