Federal Bureau of Prisons

The United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons

Mehri & Skalet represents unions and employees in claims against the Federal Bureau of Prisons for unpaid overtime compensation. For example, correctional officers and other employees are frequently required to perform certain activities prior to the beginning of their shifts such as picking-up equipment, checking-in with their supervisors, and/or walking to their jobs sites. The employees often need to perform this work in reverse at the conclusion of their shifts. We believe the employees are entitled to be compensated for this work and we are seeking backpay damages and double or liquidated damages.
